PANIKE HEADQUARTERS

NOARQ

In PNK Pedro Cardigo approaches the Panike headquarters in Maia as one who listens to an architecture that speaks through silence. The project designed by the NOARQ studio and signed by architect José Carlos Nunes de Oliveira, unfolds in black and white, a choice that distills the building to its essence: light, shadow, proportion, and rhythm. Between austere exteriors and restrained interiors, the structure emerges as a precise and subtle body, where every plane seems designed to converse with light.

The images follow the density of white surfaces, the vibration of voids, the disciplined geometry, and the symbolic presence of the sculpture that anchors the main atrium. This is not a descriptive account, but an attempt to capture the building’s breath: light that shapes, shadow that reveals, pauses that give meaning. Photography becomes an act of attentive listening. The building is not merely observed, it is unveiled.

The arch+ is an editorial collection of photographic essays about built architecture.

Each volume in the collection focuses on a specific project, seen not as an isolated object but as an inhabited place, shaped by time, use, and experience. Photography is used as a tool of interpretation, favoring immersive and an author view of architecture.

This collection distances itself from technical monographs and exhaustive documentary records. The books in the series propose a sensitive reading of architecture, exploring the relationship between space, materiality, light, and human presence through a carefully constructed visual narrative.

The collection positions itself as a field of photographic investigation dedicated to architecture as built and lived reality, maintaining a consistent formal identity across its volumes.
